HLG Govt. College Tauru has been serving the rural area of Mewat for the last 35 years. Its total area - including the buildings, the ground etc. is 12 acre, 6 kanal and 13 marla. The idea of this college first germinated in the mind of Sh. Hardwari Lal Goyal, the leading businessman and philanthropist of the area. He bought this piece of land, donated it to the government and even saw to it that this building came up soon thereafter. The college has 15 classrooms which include 8 smart classrooms (two Geography labs are also being used as smart class rooms), including the Edusat room. The college has 14 labs which include 8 science labs, 2 computer labs, 2 geography labs, one commerce lab and one language lab. The college has a library which no doubt needs to be augmented to meet the requirement of the increasing strength of students. Shortage of regular staff in the library also has been a persistent problem for many years now. The college has 93 computers. A new teaching block is coming up on the college campus which will meet the need of more classrooms on account of of the increased strength.
